Friday moment

This Moment

"A single photo – no words – capturing a simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember."
“This Moment” is a ritual found on Life inspired by the Wee Man adopted fromSouleMama which was introduced to me by Sarah-Jane. If you find yourself touched by a Moment and would like to participate, post your picture on a Friday and leave your link in the comments section.

The Moment

I had the vocation to do a little trip down memory lane. The two block area of town where I grew up has been raised as part of the city revitalization program. Now it is one big empty lot, the houses are all gone, and it will become a park. This old weeping willow still stands and I and it have some stories to tell. It was in a neighbors yard and next door to my buddy's house. the old tree seem to be remembering and morning the good old days of my youth.

My buddy back there in the spring of 1957 had got a fledgling Peregrine falcon, from where I don't know. and we were going to train it to hunt. Well maybe. Somewhere in the training the falcon flew away and landed in the top of this old weeping willow. we could see it but it would not come back to its perch when we call it. Guess what its still in the the top of the old willow tree.

I really don't Think it the same bird, but here we are some 55 years later and there is a Peregrine in the tree.
Wow what a trip.

Thank you for coming by and God bless

lot to do at four AM

Lot to do at four AM...
The smell of coffee on the boil drifts on the morning breeze
Mother raccoon and four that follow make their way along the mill stream
The gargling sound of the mill stream charging the buttress of the head gate
A barn owl wings it way from its lofty perch, will a vole learn to fly

Lot to do at four AM
Ribbon hues of blue, lace the eastern horizon gathering in the stars
A breeze coming down from the snow toped rocky mountain, a death throws reminder of winter
A mist forms on the meadow, flowers take their morning shower
A silver cast highlights the dark figures of the trees

Lot to do at four AM
The crows wing their way west chasing the darkness
The squawk and squeak of deliver truck doors clamor the stillness
Bacon and eggs on the fry, coffee poured
Excitement begin to rise, as every blade of grass reaches for the light

Lot to do at four AM
A new day is born as the darkness yields to the light
This is my time to see the promise of life to come
A meadow lark sings; the morning dove score of love is blessing to all things

Lot to do at for I am

Thank you for being part of my morning  God Bless

Lot of April 1

As you know it's April 1, 2012 and Mouse lives for this day.  He thinks that being it is April fool’s day he can get away with all his tricks and pranks. Now I was up at four this morning to feed the stock and get the milking done, and Mouse was already at it. I should have turn on more of the lights in the milk barn or maybe wash the sleep from my eyes.  I reach for a teat of the first cow to hook up the acme automatic milking machine and went flying across the barn. Thank god for the hay. For a moment I though the barn roof blew off because I saw stars. Well I picked myself up and turn on the lights, and then I saw Mouse had put the range boss bull in the milking stall. I could hear Mouse hollering April fools.  I think it going to be a long day.
After I let the bull out to pasture I figured that the coffee should be ready, so I headed back to the house. I needed a good quiet cup to collect myself. Well I poured myself a cup and started to put is some sugar but having just been nail by one of Mouse’s April fools tricks I figured I had better taste it first and sure enough he had put salt in the sugar bowl. Well! We keep a pint of whiskey in the cupboard for medicinal purposes and it work well to sweeten a good cup of coffee and I needed a little medical help at this point.  I popped the cork and poured a shot in my coffee then took a hit off the pint. That darn Mouse had put vinegar in the whiskey bottle!!!  Wait till I get him in my sites!!, both barrels with rock salt.

Ok folks it is all so Palm Sunday and I’m off to church and pray that I have seen the last of Mouse’s April fools pranks. Thank you for stopping by and may God Bless your day
