lot not

Nothing Arizona
This post is about nothing, and I have nothing to say on the matter.  Now kids know a lot about nothing, just ask them “what are they doing” and they will say “nothing”. Jerry Seinfeld had a show about nothing.  Then there was Sergeant Schultz he saw nothing and he knew nothing. I bought a book once that was all about nothing, it cost nothing and the pages were filled with nothing not even a page number.  Now I have heard that people talk about nothing but they had really nothing to say. Nothing counts for nothing one comma nothing nothing nothing comma nothing nothing nothing stop and take a breath, now that’s a lot of nothing I wished I had that much of nothing. Some people make a lot of nothing out of nothing but it’s nothing. There are a lot of people who have nothing but they have nothing to share. There is the town of nothing in Arizona but here is nothing there.  I wonder if it is like boring that’s in Oregon, I’ve been there and I have drove threw nothing once. Some people do nothing, I don’t know how to do nothing, it may be a dance but I don’t know nothing. There is nothing out there, or up there, or over there, or down there, there in nothing there, I know it’s nothing. Well!  Here goes nothing. I hope you like nothing because there is nothing more.

Red Alert

SCAM Alert, SCAM alert. I just got off the phone from someone, who claimed to be from Microsoft windows calling to help me remove virus from my computer. He was not too convincing to me; however he may fool someone. He claimed that he was in Dallas Texas. Sorry his accent was not of Texas unless Dallas has move to New Delhi. Microsoft offices are in Seattle Washington. He did not know that. LoL. He wanted access to my computer. Not on your best day with stack of bibles and at gun point am I going to let someone out of the blue have access to my computer. I did not call him and I do not have a problem with virus on my computers I have more than one. So be warned. Sorry folks but that guy must be some kind of a nut case he sure did not do his homework. LoL. (For more on the scam click here)

I wonder it’s the hat or do people think cowboys don't know anything. Now I will admit I don't know a lot of things but I can spot a carpetbagging dude a mile off. Now, unlike a former vice president I did help build the internet and I did have a little to do with the first pc computer. I have built one of many myself from scratch, done a little programming too. Now if I ever get to talk with Bill Gates again, have not seen him since 1986 and he probably doesn't remember me, I will see what he thinks of a customer support service like this. Now on the other hand Steve Jobs, RIP, might think it’s a good idea, but he is not here anymore. Lets face it folks the Cavalry not coming and we will just have to shoot it out with these idiots.  (Pc pointing devices at twenty clicks)

Con artist has been around for a very long, long time. Their biggest victim themselves, believes that they can fool everyone. Once their con is exposed they go back under the carpet to dream up another scam. It’s the old west out there on the internet no law and order, no courts to try the felons. So what can be done about these spammers and scammers? Well here is one thing we can do is pulling the rug out from under them, by reporting on the net every time they show the ugly head. As long as we let these con’s fish they will catch someone or something. (I hope it’s a room with bar on the windows)

Salesman are not much different, I had one the other day try to tell me he could save me half my phone bill if I took his service. Now let us say my bill is a hundred dollars and his service is fifty dollars, so according to him he is going to save me fifty dollars. So he save me fifty dollars on my phone bill and I pay him fifty dollars sorry I must have missed something here I am still pay hundred dollars for phone service, fifty to him and fifty to the phone company. Where is the fifty dollars saving? By the way he was trying to sale me a push button “help I have fallen and can't get up” system. Now I have already put 911 on speed dial on my cell phone. I guess I just save me fifty dollars and if I had five bucks I could go buy a whiskey to celebrate.  Darn I sure miss the days it was just ten cents a shot. Oh well!!!

lot aliens and more

Aliens and more aliens they just keep coming. The long knives, the hair faces, the white eyes, they come a take our land and kill our buffalo. This was the cry of the Native Americans. Today we are making the same cry only it the illegal aliens the ones from south of the border, the Hispanic, wetbacks, Chicano, Mexicans, whatever you want to call them, that are taking our way of life. 21 billion dollars are sent to Mexico by the illegals and migrant workers each year and they don't pay one dime in tax .Yet we don't have an immigration reform bill, congress is afraid of offending the Hispanic vote. Which only show just how bad the problem is.

When I drive down town I can see the signs, I just can't read them but they're all over. I don't read Spanish. All the places I used to go for a good meal are gone replaced with some El something or other, and then there are those refried beans. They look bad, smell bad, taste bad and belong in the outhouse, could be where they came from.  I turned on the TV and half the local station are how in Spanish. When I go to the store the signs are written in English and Spanish. If I wanted to live in Mexico I would have learned  to read and write in Spanish but I don't I live here and I don't want to learn another language just to live in my hometown. Securing our borders is an almost impossible task; there have been the Great Wall of China as well as the Berlin wall but people found ways around them.  If Mexico were to become the land of milk and honey with gold paved streets, how many would be headed back downstream?

Here is an idea to solve the problem. First we take over the Mexican government and make Mexico a US territory, later we will make it the fifty first state or give it back to Texas after we have it all under control. Then we round up all the indigenous people and put them on reservations. Where they will be schooled in English and social edict like putting the shopping back in the racks when they are threw shoplifting. We could let them off the res to work in the fields then return them to the reservation when the work is done. Those that are already here would be rounded up too and put on the res.  Only those that can prove they are us citizens would be allowed to live off the reservation.  After they have learned English and some manners we will grant them citizenship in five to ten years. Then we could put the drug cartel in control of the reservation and they could and would shoot anyone trying to leave.

If I have offended anyone with this post I am sorry, however I have been offended for years by the words and actions of illegals.  Go home you are not wanted or welcome here. There is no “mi casa es tu casa” we do not believe in it. This is my home and you are not welcome.

lot the Ogden Pioneers Days Rodeo

It’s getting closer just a couple of weeks more and it will start. The Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo is the event of the summer around here. It’s more than a rodeo there is are art show, craft fairs, farmers market, custom car shows, parades and more. I have not ridden in a rodeo since 1967 but I have not missed many rodeos. I go to watch and remember when. You don’t have to be a top hand to get in the rodeo just be foolish or drunk enough to pay the entry fee. There is one thing about it you will remember it for the rest of your life. I remember my first rodeo; some friends that I was hanging out with were going to one of the small town rodeo in “Corinne, Utah June of 1965”. Chris, one of my friends had entered the rodeo and he kind of talked the rest of us into joining him.

At this point I had not rode in any rodeo but I had rode a number of green broke  horses and a few wild pony and they did buck a bit. So I was not overly worried about paying the ten dollar entry plus the five per event fee you just had to be in the top four to get your money back. I sign up for the saddle bronco and the bareback events. Now my wallet was twenty buck lighter, and I was starting to be concerned about the missing weight, but they gave me a piece of paper with a number on it and a pair of safety pin to put it on my back. We help each other pin on our numbers then we walk around the stock pin and look them over then went and looked around the vender booths. Now! Those numbers on our back were targets all the girls around there came running like a swarm of bee. We bought a lot of cotton candy and soda pop.

Then came the call to boots and saddles and the lineup for the grand entry, I was all deck out with girls hair ribbons on both arms, this was starting to be fun. We rode around the arena smiling and waving to the crowd. We left the arena and are back of the chutes get ready to ride. The first rider is out and we all climb the fence to watch, he gets a 63, not bad but not that good the stock are rank and he made the buzzer. Eight second is sure a long time. I am getting second thought about this but Chris gets me ready taping my wrist and boots tops, you do that to keep them from fly off, the boots that is,  he done this a time or two and is good at it. He tells me I can do it. I empty my pockets and take off my watch, it time to get on that beast. Chris is in my ear telling me just what to do but I can't hear him, my mind is screaming “what the hell are you doing”.  The horse I drew was Sun Devil, a golden colored buckskin. I climb up on the bucking chute stall and start to mount. That critter is a snorting and blowing, kicking the heck out of the stall. He settles down a bit and I get on and got screw down. I give them the nod and they turn us out. Where is that pick up rider, where in that buzzer, it’s been over an hour hasn't it, I see the crowd, I see the sky. I see the ground, and then I hear that wonderful sound and see an arm with a way off this thing. The announcer says great ride folks a 78 for Roy from Ogden give him a big hand.

My head is buzzes and every bone in my body hurts, I did not know whether I was up side right or what, I could hear the crowd yelling, maybe I had done something good, I wave to the crowd and smile, I found my way to the fence. And climb over. Then it hit me I got one more ride coming. Oh shit, one was enough.

When the night was over I had won the saddle bronco and got 100 dollar and a silver plated belt buckle and the name and numbers to a dozen girls. Chris won the all around and got 500 dollars and a silver belt buckle, he never said how many number he got. I rode in a few more rodeos over the next two years and only won one more time at Elko Nevada in the summer of 1966.  In 1967 I rode demonstration saddle bronco at the Ogden Pioneers Days Rodeo, you can’t win any money but you get in the rodeo free this was my last Rodeo.  Chris went on to become the NFR national bareback champ in 1976 and a great singer and song writer. Me I just went on.  Every time I hear of a rodeo I want to go and rodeo I guess you could say that I'm hooked on that eight second ride.
 This my friend Chris
