2010 let me see.

2010 let me see. I need to put on my glasses; I see that there is a story that needs telling. When my grandson was about four maybe six we had a day together just him and me. We went to a rail museum, he like trains and trolleys, he watched Thomas the tank engine, and the trolley on Mr. Rogers’ show, and the western trolley museum trolley park was, well I had the tickets.  We had a great time riding the trolleys they would go out about three mile or so. They would come back and a different one would be waiting to take us out again. I guess we travel a couple hundred miles. Well it was time to get something to eat. So we stop at a hamburger joint to have a bite. When the waitress brought our meal she ask my grandson if he was going to grow up to be a cowboy like his grandpa?  Well that did not set to will with him! He said “my grandpa is not a cowboy he is a spaceman and he fix’s things “!! We ate our meal and I was leaving a tip for the waitress. She said “that she had all ready been paid by my grandson and that it was priceless”.  Hey! Wait a minute! These aren’t my glasses it’s my binoculars’ where is my glasses?  2010, well there has not been too many things good to say about it. The economy has not been very good, too many people out of work, the weather hasn’t been that great, the fishing it’s been poor. It’s seems like everything has slowed down, and that can’t be too bad. People mite pause long enough to think and find a better way of doing things. I have found some old friends and met some new ones. This old world is traveling at 70,000 miles per hour unlike the trolley it’s not going to stop to let us get on another one. It’s going to keep going around the same old track. I see mile post 2011 is getting close. I can’t see around the bended, but I have seen a few signs that say there are going to be some exciting things up ahead. So set down and buckle up. It’s going to be a wild ride. Have a happy New Year. Thank you for your time and god bless!

PS: when the conductor comes around, tell him that the guy with the crown of thrones in the back car has the tickets.

Talk, talk, talk;

Talk, talk, talk; well that is what I have been doing here, is just that talk. It’ up to each of us to do, think about what we do, change the way we do. If ever one would stand up and be counted, and take the responsibility head on. It will make a deference. Here are the things I am doing to ebb the rate of global warming. I have made my home as energy efficient as I can; I recycle paper, cans, plastic, and glass. I mow my lawn with an electric mower. I barbeque using a propane gas grill in steed of burning wood or charcoal, although I think the food tastes better cook over an open wood fire.  One thing I need to do is get I better truck, the one I drive is a 1985 ford 150. It looks good runs good and is a good old truck. If anyone would like to donate or buy me a new one that would be well like. But my old truck still meets the emission standards as set today. I encourage friends and family to do that they can to help.  I started this series of post because of a young lady, who I thought was much older started a discussion on blogger with the question “global warming true or false?” We and some others have had a good debate on this. I believe it is still going on. In the dead of winter I saw a new plant push it head though the snow and is blossoming into a bright new tomorrow. Becca my hopes and prays are with you. My work has been that of an engineering tech. responsible for environmental testing, hand on, of several projects studying the effects of technology on the environment. I’m no expert on this subject. From the data I have seen it is a problem and is true, how serious it is I cannot answer that. Should we be concerned, yes!  Are we headed in the right direction? I hope we are. The biggest concern is carbon dioxides that is and easy one. More trees, green plant, less carbon dioxides producing plants, green plants remove carbon dioxide from the air. If you remember health class we breathe out carbon dioxide. The green plants need us and we need them to live. This is the last of this series. Tomorrow I think I will take at look at 2010 and see what lay ahead 2011. Thank you for your time and god bless.

looking back

I was born in Grand Island, Nebraska 1946 I don’t remember much about the way things were then. It wasn’t till about 1950 that I started to remember things; people still used horse and wagons in rural areas. In town cars were the way to get around. The air was clean but the smell of exhausts fume; well I preferred the smell of the milk barn. It did not burn my eyes. I love going to the mountains’ the air was cleaner and the smoke and smells of the camp fire with eggs and bacon coffee cooking. Is something you don’t forget? We would see deer, bears, squirrels, and porcupines. The fishing wasn’t bad either! Today you don’t see bears, or porcupines. The air smells of car exhaust.  The camp fire and the smells of the eggs and bacon, coffee don’t smell as nice. You don’t see as many deer or squirrels. In town the air smells bad, you have hard time breathing, your eyes burn from all the car exhaust. My kids and grand kids will never know what it was like back in 1950 and their kids and grandkids won’t know what it is like now. I hope that it will be better than it was when I was little.
I remember getting in a little trouble back then. I kind of make I mess out of the barn and my dad’s work shop and let the cows out. My grandmother was staying for a visit got after me and told me to wait till my dad got home. My dad worked for the railroad and was gone a lot. She had me start cleaning up the mess. I knew that dad would not be very happy when he saw the mess I had made.  When he got home he made me cleaning up the whole place and fix the things I broke, and round up the cows.
We all at least most all of us are waiting for our father in heaven to come home. I don’t think he is going to be happy with us and the way we have made a mess out of our home. We have been like children with the new toys tearing up the carpet and the garden, stinking up the air with our new chemistry Set. We have been given fair warning of what he will do when he come home. I don’t know when he will get home, but I think we had better get busy clean up the mess.

“Walk softly and carry a big stick”

“Walk softly and carry a big stick” it was “speak softly and carry a big stick “Teddy Roosevelt 1902. A great man and someone that I admire, from what I have read and learn about him I believe we would have been bullish buddy, friends, sole mates, brothers, comrades. We, I believe share many thing in common.  He loves nature and animals on all kind. Today I thank he would say use the big stick. Will the Teddy Bear be the only bear that my great great grandkids see?  Will Yellowstone become a Disney world theme park, some say it already has?  Will the only tree be the plastic Christmas tree that they know or see? Is this what is coming in 2011 and beyond? There are a very few things that I can agree on with Mister Obama one is cleaner renewable energy. When we changed burning coal and wood to natural gas the air was cleaner. When some makes a killing on a new energy source, you won’t find any gasoline anywhere except at a museum. The giants of the oil industry will and are fighting to keep that from happen. In the mean time the global warming is getting worse! There those that say let god take care of it, put it in his hands, I think that he provided us the problem for us to solve. He put it in our hands! Natural gas, hydrogen, solar, wind, methane, all is clean and or renewable energy.  Being environmentally conscious is not a fashion statement. It means to think, practices, and clean up the mess we have made. The big money, goevrment, banks, investors, and industry, are not going to do it till they can see a profit in doing so. to learn more goto http://www.nrdc.org/issues/

It’s getting hotter!

It’s getting hotter!  Most people don’t understand what the researcher / scientist do. Scientist ask these six question; who, why, when, where, what, and how. They report what they have found, and then they try to come with an explanation as to the same six. They have reported that the data shows a change in the rate that the climate is warming. They are looking at ways to slow the process or turn it around. The warming is a natural event, what is not natural is the cutting down large areas of rain forest, releasing gases in to the atmosphere that can change the process. We just don’t know to what extent we are changing the process or if we can.  We don’t know how or why the planet is warming. We don’t know if we have anything to do about it.  But they see a change in the rate. Man has done some pretty amazing thing since he has been around. We have gone from living in the Stone Age to reaching for the stars. Are we playing with fire? Will the earth and its nature, and god save us from our ignorance and arrogance?
I am 64 year old, and have worked in research and on studies of the climate. Back in the 19 sixties someone found a hole in the Ozone layer down at the South Pole. Many people started to run around like Chicken Little.  But when the shock and alarm was over and the research was still being done, fluorocarbons were ban and stoped being made, used or put into the atmosphere. The Truth of the hole in the ozone layer is it has all ways been there. It is natural it changes size and depth with solar flare active and the amount of electrical discharge “lighting “ in our atmosphere, as well as the arcing of electrical devices and other natural ozone generating causes.  Ozone is a charge ion of oxygen. Like charge particles repel leaving a space or hole between them. We are still learning about the Ozone layer. Did we have to stop the use of fluorocarbons? That is still in debate.to learn more goto http://www.nrdc.org/issues/

Global warming?

Global warming? Well men have talking about the weather since they started to talk.  We talk about it, but no one does anything about it. Or have we. We have prayed for rain, we have prayed for snow, we have prayed for sun.  We have prayed for wind.  We have tried to forecast the weather. With all our modern technology the best we can do is make a guess as to what the weather will be.  Back when I was a child going to school. The teachers would meet us at the door with a wet brown paper towel too wash the soot off our hands and face.  The order of the day was burning wood and coal. The winter weather was cold and with the temperature inversion the soot would hang in the air, as well as the smell of sulfur.  That changed with the use of natural gas and diesel. So I guess we have made a change in the weather. What we do; does have an effect on the weather. The question is; are we making changes that will make the world a bad place to be? There is no one around that was here when the warming started. Will there be any one around when it stops? We, I do not know. Can we put our faith in the hands of the energy greedy life we are living?  Can we trust the power greedy politician to make thing right? Can we have hope in that the researcher can find the answer?  Can we trust the wealthy greedy industries to stop putting stuff in to the water and air that is aiding the warming effect?

global warming

Sorry for the delay but it is Christmas. Global warming true or false?  Global warming is a fact. Therefore it is true. It started warming 10,000 or more years ago. The question is; are we making it worst by what we are doing to the environment? From the research work that I have been party too; that is still up for debate. We know that it will not rain if there is not dust in the air. Water vapor needs a dust particle to condense and form rain. It’s the stuff that we are putting into the air that maybe a problem. Does it stop or change the process, too much water vapor in the air would start another ice age.  Twentieth century man and machine was not around when the last ice age started. We know that plants remove carbon dieoxide(CO2) from the air and give off oxygen. We need oxygen to live, so we need to keep as many plants growing as we can.  All the energy that we depend on today came from the sun millions of years ago. It has been stored in coal, oil, water, and radioactive rocks. Some of which we may run out of. Do we need to run around like Chicken Little or join a pray group of a doomsday profit? I don’t think that we can stop the sun from shining but there may be some dam fool that may want to try. I think we need to do more research to find out just what impact we are having on global warming.

A Gift for YOU

Have you ever been asks to look a cloud and see that its shape is…? It is not clear to you but to the person asking, they have seen a wonderful site. Last night as I was going off to bed, I was trying to think of what too write today. I have been writing and thinking about ways to put Christ back in Christmas. Last night in my sleep it came to me that I am not. He said that the kingdom of Heaven would come like a thief in the night. What is Santa Claus but a thief in the night coming into our homes and leaving presents under a tree? The moment you are given a present you feel the joy of the kingdom of heaven, the joy of having someone open the gift you gave them. Put back Christ in Christmas? He has never left. Children receive forgiveness for their wrong doings. They receive the love of family and friends. We all receive this on Christmas day. For a moment we are in heaven. It is his way to teach and prepare us for the coming of heaven. He taught using parables, is this not another? We thank our love ones for the gifts they give us. John said if you have two mules give one to someone who has none. For the kingdom of god is at hand. If you do not see, what I see in the clouds that is ok. You are not looking with my eyes. Have a very merry Christmas!!! Thank you for the gift of sharing mine. Merry Christmas!

Gift ideas for mothers

Mothers are very special. They like being called, and being called mom. They like being told there right. They like being told that you love them. It's not the gift you can buy. It's the help around the house that is the best gift. Washing the dishes, sweep and mop the floor, take out the trash, clean up your room, and turn down the loud music. Wipe your feet. Shut the door; don't slam the screen door, dust the furniture, vacuum the rug. There is more! Hang up your clothes, fold the laundry, wash the clothes, feed the dog, clean the cat box, and put the seat up, put the seat down, walk the dog. Eat what is on your plate, change the baby, take the ball out side, and stop yelling, make the beds, make the coffee, bake the ham, cook the turkey. What about them yams, is it noon already. Well! This is just a few ideas. If you have done all this, then give her a big hug a kiss and say thank you mom for all you have done.

Gift ideas for fathers

"Our father who …." These words took a new meaning for me in 2000. As a child I put on his boots and tried to walk in them. Today they fit; I know he is proud of that. But I don't know that I will ever be able to fill them. When I was 17 we went hunting just him and I. It was the only 72 hour, but it is eternity. We stood man to man no longer father and son but just kids having the time of our lives. We did not find any deer, but we found each other. As we hunted for deer we lost track of where we parked, I knew the way back to the car and he let me led the way. Looking back I question wither he really did not know where we parked. He was following my footsteps, I know now that those steps were my first steps on my path to being a man and father. Growing up we found more thing to argue about than to enjoy each other. We did have fun but it was never just him and me. I know now that I was forgiven long before I ever did or said anything wrong. That does not mean that I have not paid a price for doing so. Fathers pay the price of being a father, missing out on special moments, not being able to be home, not having all the time to spend with their children. There is not a lot said in the bible about Joseph, he is sometimes referred as a foster father or step father, of Jesus. He had a choice, and he chose to be one. I think he was more than a footnote. My father is mine and my brothers and sisters, and to all who need one. So what gift can you give to a man like that? First understanding and respect. Walking in his boots and handing them down to his grandchildren with honor. Whatever you can find that you would like him to have will be great because you are his son or daughter. These are the greatest gifts I was given by him and I give to my dad. My love is ongoing for him. If you can find a greater gift please let me know I would like to give it to him. Thank you dad for everything and your love. Your son Roy.

Gift ideas for men

Well I am a man, well maybe an old man. There a lot of things I like, something I want. This maybe silly, but I like it when a child says mommy where is a cowboy! I would like to have a horse again, but I can't ride any more, and I don't have a place to keep one. Now I got my old truck, it could use a set of new tires. Most of the time I don't know just what I want. Now I have worn a suit and tie to work to be a professional engineer, and went with the guys out for a drink after work. Well I hate to say it fellows, but we are a lot like man's best friend. Give us a ball or a stick, a cat, a car, a good looking woman to chase most of which we would not know what to do, if we caught one. Now! I like good aged whiskey a lot like beer. We all like toys cars, trucks, trains, planes, boats, tools, heck some of us like clothes. There is not one of us that don't like and want a pat on the head or back! Yap; we like to howl at the moon, roll around in the dirt, fight to see who the boss. As too what we want for Christmas? Ask the dog, and if he tells you I want that dog! You might give us a dog so we can learn to be men. But if you did, well we just might become a dog. We don't like to be tied up, but we will hang around for three square meals a day and a little petting now and then. Now! Mouse says he doesn't know he is not a man he is a mouse, but he likes dogs because they chase cats. Now then for this old man I would like a set of teeth, a new pair of glasses, and a hearing aid so I don't get in to so much trouble and a new knee so I can go for a walk. But! Most of all the love of my family and that I know I have. Mouse you scared that turkey away! I had a good shot!! What do you mean you were going to get a deer? I see the tracks! did you see they can fly? There are faster than them half 44s your pack'en! Ya! What do you mean you wing him? He was halfway to New York before you got a shot off! Ya I saw the red on his nose. You're going to what? Call him?he run-off!! Ya! More reindeer tracks! I'm going back to the bunkhouse. It's getting cold. >>>>>>>>>>

More gift ideas

Well! If you're going to go hunting for a grizzly bar you'd better know what one looks like. Well maybe I can help? I have seen one or two I my days. A gift it's something that is given! It is given without strings but a ribbon and bow would be nice! It 'not always something that you can buy, put or hold in your hand. A gift is not the bait you go fishing with. Sometimes it's the thought, now I like thinking although it can be a bit of a chore at times, and I really would not want to make someone work. Now then I am not the boss and I'm no slave master either. Neither is a gift! I hear you say it's a Christmas gift and I'm going to tell it's not, it's a birthday gift! I see a lot of parties but it seem them partier forget just who's birthday it is. Giving gifts is the greatest joy I have ever known. The greatest gift is giving of myself to you. I don't have to rap it; it comes already too rap you with a great big grizzly bar hug, a smile for a ribbon and a big kiss for a bow. Well it's getting a bit cold; it looks like snow, so I have built a fire in my heart so if you huddle around it you can get warm. Hey!!! Mouse put up that Winchester!! Those reindeer are just too fast. I saw a turkey over there in the thicket! And there's a hog hanging in the smoke house!! Ya! I see them there reindeer tracks what do you want? Reindeer track soup for Christmas dinner! Ya! Ya! I know more reindeer tracks! >>>>>>>>>>

Christmas gift idea

Got your shopping done? Is there someone you just cannot find the right gift for? Well here is a gift idea at least something that I wished I had got a long time ago. Give someone and you a journal, dairy, a book of writing pages, and supply of pencil or pens. Before you give it to them write something in it, that you would like them to know about you. Ask them a question. If it is for one of your children, take time to write in the book every day. Tell them about something they did that you like, or maybe tell them that you are going to fix pancakes for breakfast. Leave them a challenge to learn about something or someone. Let them read what you wrote. Let them write what they want. Keep it positive. In time it you and them will grow you will lean the meaning of love and understanding. The book will be something that will grow in value with time. If it is for a friend ask to write in it every time you see them. You will be part of their book and life. Well merry Christmas. I hope this helps! raindeer tracks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>watch video >>>>>>>>

Something I need to share

Well just cleaning up around here and seeing what I have got here. It seems strange the things that we put here in the garage, all the boxes, wrapping paper, and empty containers. There one that I found that is a hart shaped box that had candy in it that I shared with someone. Its velvet cover is faded, the ribbon and bow have been torn and mash down. It looks like the mouse had taken a bite or two out of it. The candy was eaten long ago. When I look back I remember the fun and the thoughts and feeling that were shared. I still can share the things that came in the box, the fun and the thoughts and feeling. The shape of it is within me. I guess it is time to let go of the box. But when I see someone that I shared it with I can see all that was in the box is still here to be shared. I will miss not having that box to put thing in, but that box could not hold all that it did share. Although the box is broken and gone the fun, laughter, thoughts, and the feelings are still here. My heart is heavy with the memories and full of love for all of you that shared this box with me. My uncle passed away today.

Lot number 6

Ok folks! We got a bucket of fresh interroggtaberry's just picked. The Indians call them tokno-italberrys! What am I bid for? Do we have a bid? These berries have been around a long time. Adam ate one and I guess Noah had some on the ark. There was this feller that had one hit him on head some time back. His name was Sir Isaac Newton. Will there have been a lot of people eat them. I must warren you. Kids especially 3 to 5 year old can have a problem with them. So ya mite want to keep them in a safe place. There is an art to eating them. It's kind of like eating watermelon ya got to spit out the seeds, and don't sallow. There is something that is incredible about them they come in six flavors all form the same tree. Ya got too watch for them youngen! They get the seeds stuck in their teeth. It can be a little ruff to get them out they just keep spiting. Hey!! Well alright now I have a five dollar bid; do I hear ten? There is a down side if you eat too many they can make you pull your hair out. I have seen some of them fellers go bald. But you know the minute you put one I your mouth your ears perk up and your eyes open wide. Ya kind get all excited and it sure feels good when you spit it out. I have twenty do I hear thirty?? Now the stem of them berries look like this [?]
as you can see they look like a hook. Well I have taken them and let them dry in the sun for a day or two. Then I take some line and tie them on and then tie the line on a willower. You guess it, go fishing. Well that brings up another problem with them berries, that stem, ya got to pull them off before you put them in your mouth else you might get hooked. That can hurt a little bit. I hear forty now fifty now fifty five do I hear sixty? Sixty going once, going twice, Sold! To the lady with the mouse scratches
one bucket of interrogatory all six flavors "who? Why? Where? When? What? And how?" Now ma that bucket is the bucket the cow step on; the bottom is a little loose and it won't hold water. So if you like I will put it all in a feed bag. Paper or plastic?
Foot note: When you fine a child that has started to use these, tell the truth as much there young minds can take. For the tech mined, and teachers these six words are the input statement to the programming of the human mind. You are what you eat. you reap what you sow.

Lot number 8

Its looks like we have a bucket of mints. Well alright now what am I bid for lot #8?
At this moment a child take his first breath.

Just a little bit more about me

I have the problem that is call dyslexia… somehow along the way getting to where I am today. Things got a little mixes up and kind of cross wired. In my mine all is clear and looks fine to me. However when I try to spell or type something that's when things get a little messed up. My fingers cannot keep up with my thoughts and they keep interrupting my train of thought by hitting the wrong key. It's not all bad I have found that I can use the problem of seeing thing a little backwards. I guess most people see thing just one way, I don't! I see many way to say or do things. I can take a group of random thoughts and make sense of them. In troubleshooting, that comes in quit handy. I can visualize how to make something not work. Therefore I can see how to make it work. I cannot spell a word I find another that will do the job. MS Word almost makes me literate. At least it let me know that I misspelled a word. However it does not put the "ed's" or the "s's "that I thought I had wrote, some time I miss a whole word, and I have to read what I wrote outloud to find that I miss a word or two. Sometimes I will see a word that I have wrote that I do not recognize as being spelled wrong or the right one. It is spelled right but it's is the wrong word. And that can be very funny. I like to study physics, philosophy, theology, and science in general. My favorite philosopher's is Rena De Carte and all the old Greeks. This is not up for sell, and I don't know that I would get rid of the dyslexia it I could. Later!!!

Things happen

A while back there were some Indians that stop by. They said how. I said much. I could see that they were a hunting party. Well they weren't wearing paint. So I ask what they were about. They asked if I had seen any Indians. I said nope !!!There the only ones I have seen. They said they were looking for the old chief's son. They said he had to go and spend a night alone in the woods to become a brave, and he did not come home. I guess that it's one of those Indian things. Any way they said that the old chief had went to Washington to get some help. And Washington said they would put the word out, and they would post signs to get people to watch out for him. So just to help I figured that I would pass it along. Oh! By the Way his name is falling rock.

Next item up for bid

A friend (;<,). I joined one of them social networks last night. I found a lot of friends there, so I started to add friends to my network. I started to get a little concerned that I might kill that mouse. Then someone showed up that want to be my friend. So I click on add, one can never have too many friends. Well this new friend wanted to be a little too friendly. I could not find an unselect button or a select all global buttons, I guess the mouse ate them. I have a lot of friends that I could not add, a body need to rest, and that mouse might die. What is the price of a friend? Who is a friend? On 911 we had some friends who gave there all for all. Some years back we made a law to bring more friends together it was called equal rights. Busing makes some friends. I define a friend as some I have met, will meet, someone that I know, a rock too trough at that mouse. Just what do you thank a friend is? I like them all! Friend or foe, a foe is a friend that has a different point of view. Do I have a opening bid.

Just a few problems

I apologize for the mess, but you see it's not all my fault. Ya see there was this lady, she was moving the boxs around and a mouse ran over her, that started her to screaming  it's a rat. Then the cat ran over her after that mouse. The dog started barking that spooked the cow and she kicked over the milk bucket. The lady ran for the gate with the cow not far behind. The dog was trying to catch the cow and they all went out the open gate. All this for such a little mouse. Oh well once I get this all together and I find my hat. We can get the show on the road, a web. So please come back. Well I will clean up the mess!!!!

First item up for bid

A bucket full of honesty.
Honesty refers to a facet of moral character and denotes positive, virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness along with the absence of lying, cheating, or theft.
I hope that this applies to me. I try to make it my only policy. Some time it is not easy to maintain. As I have said there’s something’s that are in need of repair.  The reference at the top is copied from wiki page on honesty.  I have found that the www is in short supply of it. In the real world it seems there is not enough to go around.  With this In mind I feel that honesty is of great value. It is rare and hard to find item.  One thing that is the most important is first to be honest with yourself.
I have an opening bid of:  1.5 mil.
